The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will offer a variety of programs throughout the month of August. Highlights of the month include:
Club Read
Through Saturday, August 20
It’s not too late to participate in Club Read, a free program that offers teens, toddlers, school-aged children and their families the opportunity to have fun while keeping track of their reading. In the summer months, all children are at risk of losing some of the learning obtained during the school year. More than 80 percent of children from economically disadvantaged communities can lose one to three months of reading skills over the summer because they lack access to books, learning resources and enrichment opportunities such as trips to the library. Just pick up a reading log at any branch and start reading. Special programs are planned for kids of all ages. Visit http://www.lvccld.org for more information or call 702.734.READ. Free.
