Get overdue fines and fees waived by donating canned or packaged food.
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is teaming up with Three Square Food Bank, for its “Food for Thought,” a month-long library community food drive, beginning Friday, April 1 through Saturday, April 30.
The program is a unique way to clear unpaid fines and build community by donating food to those in need. All donations collected will go to the Three Square Food Bank.
For each consumable, non-perishable, unopened, canned or packaged food item a patron brings in to the library, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will waive up to $2 in fines. There is no limit to the dollar amount that can be waived. Donations will also be accepted from anyone wishing to contribute. Food donations may not be used to pay for lost or damaged materials or give future credit based upon contributions.
Stop by any of the Library District’s 25 convenient branches to take advantage of this offer. Clear your fines, help the less fortunate and see what’s new at your Library.
