Join us for an exciting Vegas Valley Book Festival pre-event, Wish You Were Here: The Las Vegas Writes Project, on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. at the Clark County Library. Eight of the city’s best writers, Quentin Bufogle, Maile Chapman, Maxwell Drake, Lindsey Leavitt, Corey Levitan, Greg Blake Miller, Kristen Peterson, Lissa Townsend Rodgers, and editor, Scott Dickensheets, talk about their work and experience creating this year’s anthology, which was inspired by iconic Sin City postcards. They will also discuss how they had to delve deep into their imaginations to conceive short stories and essays that cast a fresh eye on a place you only think you know.
Free and open to the public. A book signing and reception will follow the panel talk. Books will be available for sale at the door. For more information on the program, call 507-3459 or visit any of the Las Vegas Writes anthologies. Support is provided by Stephens Press.
The Vegas Valley Book Festival, scheduled for November 1-3, 2012, is produced by the city of Las Vegas; Las Vegas-Clark County Library District; UNLV’s Black Mountain Institute; AIGA, Las Vegas Chapter; Las Vegas Review-Journal; and Nevada Humanities, a festival Founder.
