The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s web site has a special Homework Help section that can be used from home, at the library or from school. A library card and a computer with Internet access is all that is needed. Just select Homework Help under Quick Links on the Kids or Teens pages to find information on a variety of subjects organized by subject and grade level.
In addition to web sites, databases and other resources to help with a research project, write a report or complete an assignment, the Homework Help page offers HelpNow from Brainfuse, an online tutoring site that can be accessed through the button that says “Online Tutors & Tests.” The site connects to a live tutor, and students can work with the tutor in the subjects of English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Writing.
The Skills Building feature on Homework Help allows students to interact with tutors to understand the broader concepts of the subjects they are studying. The Writing Lab gives students the opportunity to submit their writing to a tutor and receive expert feedback.
At the Test Center, students can take practice standardized tests such as SAT and ACT, as well as practice subject specific tests. Receive online help with Spanish language homework from fluent Spanish language tutors at the Language Lab, and use 24/7 to submit questions any time of day and receive a response within 24 hours.
Explore Brainfuse’s HelpNow for professional homework assistance, a free resource through the Library with your library card! For more library information, visit http://www.lvccld.org/ or connect through Facebook and Twitter.
