Hear What’s in the Heart – A Shoemaker’s Tale Comes to West Las Vegas Library Theatre

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will host Hear What’s In The Heart – A Shoemaker’s Tale at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 West Lake Mead Boulevard on Friday, July 8 at 2 p.m. for an open invitation dress rehearsal, with performances beginning on Saturday, July 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 at 3 p.m.

The play is directed and co-written by Tony award-winner Anthony Crivello, who currently stars as The Phantom in Las Vegas’ production of Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular and stars co-writer and Broadway actor Steve Scionti.

Set against the backdrop of a post-funeral gathering to celebrate the life of Scionti’s grandfather, the story takes us through the funeral day’s events. Scionti (and Crivello) paint a theatrical family portrait in a series of humorous and poignant vignettes as Scionti transforms into various family members and friends, jumping back and forth to affecting moments on his journey into adulthood. Fourteen characters are portrayed in all.
