Art in Action: Spring Break Teen Art Camps
Hey teens! Immerse yourself in art this Spring Break! We are offering art workshops for teens 11 to 18 years old at seven library branches throughout the valley on Monday, March 25, Tuesday, March 26, and Wednesday, March 27, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Each day, each branch will offer a hands-on learning experience, from the art of New Zealand Maori native people to Japanese Bamboo traditional water color painting to Tibetan sand mandalas on velour paper to creating figure sculpture from wire. Holiday Theater at Your Library
We are hosting live theatrical performances of A Christmas Carol performed by the Hampstead Stage Company at five library branches beginning in December. In this timeless tale by Charles Dickens, the miser Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas through visits from the spirits of the season.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Storyteller David Gonzalez
Acclaimed storyteller David Gonzalez paints a vivid picture of the people and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world in Cuentos: Tales from the Latino World on Sunday, September 30 at 2 p.m. at the Clark County Library.
These stories are filled with memorable characters, fantastic plots and positive messages that are sure to captivate the imagination. Hear about the silly antics of the Puerto Rican hero Juan Bobo or the mysterious powers of the Orishas in a suite of Afro-Cuban stories. Combining English and Spanish words throughout the stories and songs, Cuentos is a perfect introduction to the world of Latino literature and culture. (more…)

Digital Media and the Future of Learning
Join us as the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation presents Community Conversations featuring Dr. Mimi Ito at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 at the Windmill Library.
Author of Hanging Out, Messing Around, and Geeking Out: Kids Living and Learning with New Media, Dr. Ito will talk about how kids are learning through digital media, recognizing the fears and risks, but focusing on maximizing opportunities for learning with the new technologies–online, mobiles and games. Dr. Ito will give examples of parenting strategies, in-school and out-of-school strategies and the growing body of online communities driven by interest groups. (more…)
Zappos, Inc., Kicks Off Library District Foundation Speaker Series
Jamie Naughton, Speaker of the House for Zappos, Inc., will be the keynote for the Library District Foundation’s launch of the FAST FORWARD VEGAS speaker series.
