Holiday Closures
All District branches will be closed on Saturday, December 24 and Sunday, December 25 for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Branches will be closing at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 31 for New Year’s Eve. All branches will be closed on Sunday, January 1 for New Year’s Day.
Libraries Closed for Thanksgiving
All Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches will be closed Thursday, November 24 for Thanksgiving Day. They will reopen at their usual times on Friday, November 25.
Libraries Closed for Veterans Day
All Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches will be closed Friday, November 11 for Veterans Day. They will reopen at their usual times on Saturday, November 12.
Libraries Closed for Nevada Day
All Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches will be closed Friday, October 28 for Nevada Day. They will reopen at their usual times on Saturday, October 29.
Windmill Library Opens
Scores of community residents, eager to start using their neighborhood library, turned out on Saturday, May 7, to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony that opened the Library District’s newest branch at 7060 West Windmill Lane at South Rainbow Boulevard. The ceremony featured the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s honor guard, remarks by the Library District’s Executive Director Jeanne Goodrich, Board Vice Chair Kelly Benavidez, and Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager.

Libraries Closed for Memorial Day
All Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches will be closed May 30 for Memorial Day. They will reopen on May 31 at their usual time.
Windmill Library to Open with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the Windmill Library, 7060 W. Windmill Lane. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and will include brief remarks by Executive Director Jeanne Goodrich, Library District Board of Trustees Vice Chair Kelly Benavidez and Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager. District to Reduce Hours at Urban Branches
As of June 26, 2010, the open hours of the Library District’s urban branches will change from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours will remain the same, at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Libraries impacted are Centennial Hills, Clark County, Enterprise, Las Vegas, Sahara West, Spring Valley, Summerlin, Sunrise, Rainbow, West Las Vegas, Whitney and West Charleston. All other library locations will maintain their current service hours. (more…)
Revenue Shortfall Reduces Library Hours and Services
At its May 20, 2010 board meeting, the Library District’s Board of Trustees adopted the FY 2010-2011 budget starting July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011. The budget’s General Fund, or operating fund, is $52.5 million. (more…)
