New Member Joins Board of Trustees
Ms. Shannon Bilbray-Axelrod was appointed to the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s Board of Trustees by the Clark County Commission to serve the remainder of the term of Trustee Liz Carrasco.
Her term will run through March 1, 2013.

Windmill Library Opens
Scores of community residents, eager to start using their neighborhood library, turned out on Saturday, May 7, to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony that opened the Library District’s newest branch at 7060 West Windmill Lane at South Rainbow Boulevard. The ceremony featured the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s honor guard, remarks by the Library District’s Executive Director Jeanne Goodrich, Board Vice Chair Kelly Benavidez, and Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager.

Libraries Closed for Memorial Day
All Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches will be closed May 30 for Memorial Day. They will reopen on May 31 at their usual time.
Spring Book Sale
Stop by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation used book store at the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Avenue, Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a half-price sale. There will be a large selection of children’s books, fiction and nonfiction books, CDs and DVDs starting at $.25. Paperbacks will be sold for $.10.
Take advantage of the half-price sale. You may find a bargain and help support your library too.
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, dedicated to enhancing the 25 branches of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District through fundraising and advocacy efforts. Windmill Library to Open with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the Windmill Library, 7060 W. Windmill Lane. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and will include brief remarks by Executive Director Jeanne Goodrich, Library District Board of Trustees Vice Chair Kelly Benavidez and Clark County Commissioner Susan Brager.
