Library District Holds Lecture Series on Health and Wellness

Library District to Celebrate Teen Tech Week
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District celebrates Teen Tech Week March 6-12, to bring awareness to the various technologies available at your local library. Teen Tech Week is a national initiative to make teens, educators, parents and other concerned adults aware that libraries are chock-full of tech toys like CDs, DVD, and video games, as well as a great place to get connected to homework help, research resources, music, the web and more. Libraries Closed for Presidents Day
All District branches will be closed on Monday, February 21 in honor of Presidents Day. They will reopen on Tuesday, February 22 at their normal time.
Library District Seeks Public Input
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is looking for public input concerning changes to the policies and user fees governing the use of its specialized spaces, such as meeting rooms, auditoriums, lecture halls and theaters located within the various branches. (more…)

Local Libraries Offer Free Music Download Service
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD) and the Henderson District Public Libraries (HDPL) announced they are now offering their library cardholders access to songs from Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists through their web sites. Cardholders may download three songs per week through the new service, called Freegal, which will work with any MP3 player including iPod, and can be loaded into iTunes. It works on both PCs and Macs. (more…)
