Libraries Closed for Nevada Day
All District branches will be closed on Friday, October 29 in honor of Nevada Day. They will reopen on Saturday, October 30 at their normal time.
Library District and America Reads-America Counts Offer Free Tutoring
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and America Reads-America Counts have teamed up to bring an after-school tutoring program to two library branches. College students from UNLV are providing help with reading, math and other academic skills to early readers, elementary school-aged children and high school young adults. (more…)

Fans can meet Dan Yaccarino, an internationally-recognized writer and illustrator and creator and producer of the animated television series Oswald, on Thursday, November 4, 10:30 a.m. at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Centennial Hills Library Receives LEED Gold Certification
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s newest branch, the Centennial Hills Library, which opened in January 2009, has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system was designed to encourage and facilitate the development of more sustainable buildings. (more…)
